Holidays and Happy Days

ROCK STAR DAY for spirit week at school brought about much drama between the boys over who was going to carry the fake guitar. You can see Maxwell's disappointed face over the whole ordeal. I can grow about only things down here in the heat. Kids and Zinnias.

We decided that the year couldn't pass without going camping at least once. We packed up the minivan, (I don't have a clue how we fit it all in) and headed up towards Flagstaff. It started snowing a few minutes after we got there. I didn't think we were going to make it through the hour, especially not through the night. After what seemed liked endless hours of waiting in the dark in my freezing cold sleeping bag, twilight came upon us and we started a fire that we kept going to keep us warm until we left . We enjoyed a few hours of sunshine the next day and of course the kids' imaginations went wild until we had to leave.

Maxwell and Syrelle look like they've been caught in the act of doing something wrong. . . I just can't remember what.

Wickman played flag football for the school. They had a small but mighty team.

Soccer season is always the most hectic and fun time of the year. I feel like we should have just set up a camper at Butler Park for a couple of months to save on gas and time going back and forth for practices.

CC played goalie, mid-field and defender. She is one of the smallest yet the feistiest members on her team. She received the team ball at the end of the season for MVP.
Shipley's team made it to state and Shipley made the 3A allstate team as mid-fielder. She enjoyed every minute of the season and was one of only 2 Freshman to play on the Varsity team for the entire season.

Wickman played goalie, defender and mid-fielder.

Cecelia absolutely loves ice skating. Since the closest rink is in Prescott Valley, She made her own ice skates out of blocks and tape.

Wickman did a report on Egypt and made a headdress.

Trick or treat, don't smell these boys feet. We had our annual Halloween Party and were overjoyed to have Keith and Kathie here to join us.

PEACE....Love....

Two princesses....

The cat's meow...

My first ghost....spooky.

Mr. Clean and Captain Jack.

Grandpa and Grandma brought Tennessee a scooter for his birthday. He's finally figured it out.

Our sweet kittens....brothers and friends.

Wick carved this handsome Jack-o-lantern, stuffed himself, and sat on the front porch and scared a few trick- or- treaters.

Maxwell made paper dolls. The one in the middle is quite disturbed.

Again, Wickman's creativity at work.

Our new home teachers invited the kids over for a horse ride.

Tennessee ("Chief Winsonocock") turned two this year. He is a bundle of joy and keeps us all rolling. He is also spoiled rotten being the youngest. His favorite movie is Tangled and his favorite activity is playing with Lightning McQueen.

We were blessed to enjoy Thanksgiving in St. George with some of our favorite people.

Caught getting into the turkey.

The cutest twins ever.

Syrelle and Cecelia's Christmas ballet concert.

Our annual gingerbread making night.

Max and Shipley disguised as ninjas to deliver the 12 days of Christmas.

What would Christmas eve be without a nativity reenactment? Syrelle (as Mary) gave birth right in the living room to the baby Jesus.

CHRISTMAS MORNING!

The mysterious present left by Santa.

WOW! It was a trip to Disneyland!

Dumbo. Really .... a one hour wait?

Captain EO fans.

Our only character shot of the trip. Well worth the wait to meet Rapunzel!

Four dollars well spent.

Downtown Disney....

It's a small, magical world.... Even though it was busy as ever, we had a wonderful time just being away together.

Our day at the beach was my favorite day.

Syrelle asked for a wig for Christmas.

Wickman was able to receive the priesthood on his birthday this year. He is such a fine, smart and thoughtful young man. It is so special to watch him pass the sacrament and to see him excel in school.

Family night....We had to pick a partner and demonstrate "love at home".

Each member of our family was represented by a polly pocket surrounding the temple.

Tennessee and I sang , "I am a child of God".

Tennessee had a rough week.

First day of pre-school. We studied ants.

Tennessee turned up missing one afternoon. We found him in the bathroom with the door closed. He had run himself a bath in the sink.

A daddy-daughter date.

Since we are lacking in the fluffy, cold white stuff that usually falls this time of year up north, our kids have made do with the dirty, hard stuff: dirt. They spend almost every afternoon getting their daily exercise by hiking up the hill to slide down again. When they got bored, they moved over to slide down the stairs.... a little something they learned from the first movie, HOME ALONE. Now they are required to wear helmets. On colder days, the fun moves inside. Here is my proof that they do jump on the beds when I am not looking. Notice the suprised/guilty/scared look on Wickman's face and the very end of the clip when he realizes that he broke the bed. It is hilarious.
