"White Widows"

Syrelle learned to write her name! Okay... she is getting the hang of it. We are a bit out of order, but just bear with me. I have a lot of catching up to do. I think Arizona always has Indian summers, but we are all ready for it coll off. The other day we found what looked like a black widow's web right outside our back door; however, the spider in the web was more white than black. I said to Max,"Is that a black widow?" " No mom. I think it is a white widow," he replied. We had a great week in Lake Powell with my family and a couple of cousins who tagged along. Fun in the sun and in the SAND!

We had the privlidge of spending several weeks up in Salt Lake enjoying the company of cousins, grandparents and aunts and uncles. Missing you Liz!

I can't remember what she thought was so gross! Maybe brussell sprouts?

Wickman's favorite way to pass the time in Powell...FISHING!! I just lost that picture. It disappeared. Jack and Wick made this home-made hot tub for Tennessee.

Deep thoughts.

Shipley and I went to girls' camp together in June. Shipley went as 3rd year and I was the leader for the 4th year girls. We shared our camp site with 2 large bear!

More cousin time...

This old lady came to visit us one day. She looks a lot like Syrelle, only taller. Max and Cecelia starred in the Missoula Children's theater production of "PINOCCIO".

Wick and Max caught a lizard one day and sent him for a ride in their little motorized boat.

Wickman made the All Star baseball team! I would tell you how far their team got in the play offs, but according to my memory bank, that information is classified.

Wickman's biggest fans. . .

Good times at the river this summer. The kids fished for crawdads and I tried to avoid stepping on them.

We hit the 4th of July parade in Beaver Creek. Missed our cousins.

Here they are! We enjoyed the evening at the Cook's for fireworks and slip-n'slide. The rain tried to spoil our fun, but we didn't let it.

Hooray for the monsoons! There isn't a rain storm that my kids miss out on. Shipley turned 14 ! She celebrated with a few friends and a lot of fun! She is a freshman in high school (yes, I feel old) and keeps extremely busy with school and being a part of the varsity soccer team! We are so proud of her!

Wickman heated up water one pot at a time to fill up this mini tub for Ten and himself. Apparently he forgot that there is a 400 gallon hot tub just 5 feet away.

Tennessee fell asleep while chewing on this strip of beef jerky. It was hilarious to see it just sitting there hanging out of his mouth like a cigar while he was passed out.

Cecelia loves to play dress ups. Do you recognize this ballerina?

These bushmen were found in my mom's back yard.

Picnicking with our favorites...

Future jazz girls.

We met up with Nat and family and attended the 'Days of '47 parade and went to the Church History Museum. Highlight: Seeing the prophet.

Fountains at Abravanel hall... they couldn't resist.

Spinning in the skirts of the traditional Mexican pioneers.

A day at the lake...

Fireworks at grandma's ...

Maxwell turns 7! Max is our smart little fire cracker who only knows one volume..LOUD! He is very affectionate and tenderhearted. He loves baseball, rock and lizard hunting , riding his bike and playing in the mud.

Max also celebrated his birthday with his booty looting cousins and sarached for treasure in their backyard. Beware matey and hide ye treasure! Our newest additions to the Flegal side of the family.. Miss Ellie and Master James. We just couldn't get enough of these cute peanuts!

The proud parents.. The proud aunt..

Mr. and Mr. cool. They aren't pretending to smoke.... they were shooting air soft ammo through the straws at each other and the cool glasses were for their eyeprotection. Our hummus lover...

Relle's first day of ballet class.
MOM turns ___! I got to spend the day doing what I love most...watching my kids compete in sporting events. We went up to Payson to watch Shipley's soccer game and then had a cook out with some of our dear friends at Clint's Well. It was gorgeous in the mountains...one of my favorite places to be.

Back to SLC for my nephew Andy's wedding. The girls took turns serving and clearing.

Katie and the girls...and Ten. I told you I was out of order. This is before the babies were born.

Our little Ship promoted to high school! These were her peeps.
Gustavo has been by Shipley's side since pre-school. They both received the "student of the year" last year.

It was so fun reading your blog and catching up on your fun summer. Wish we could have been there while you were in Utah. We will definitely have to plan a time to meet up next summer in Utah.
